Installation Guide

Download Process Hacker

Visit the SourceForge download page or GitHub releases page and download the latest version. Choose either the installer (.exe) or portable (.zip) version based on your preference.

Run the Installer (Installer Version)

Double-click the downloaded installer file. If you see a User Account Control (UAC) prompt, click "Yes" to allow the installation. Follow the installation wizard:

  • Accept the license agreement
  • Choose the installation directory (default is recommended)
  • Select additional options if desired
  • Click "Install" to begin installation
  • Wait for the installation to complete

Extract Portable Version (Portable Version)

If you downloaded the portable version, extract the ZIP file to your desired location. You can extract it to:

  • A folder on your hard drive
  • A USB flash drive for portability
  • Any external storage device

No installation is required - simply run ProcessHacker.exe from the extracted folder.

Launch Process Hacker

After installation or extraction, launch Process Hacker. For the installer version, you can find it in the Start menu. For the portable version, double-click ProcessHacker.exe.

Note: Some features require administrator privileges. Right-click Process Hacker and select "Run as administrator" for full functionality.

Verify Installation

Once Process Hacker launches, you should see the main interface with a list of running processes. The interface should display:

  • List of all running processes
  • System resource graphs (CPU, RAM, I/O, Network)
  • Process details and statistics

If everything displays correctly, your installation is successful!
